    Magdalena Bay Report

This was my experience last year. Not super remote but I'd love to do something a bit more feral at some point. https://pnwflyfishing.com/forum/index.php?threads/our-first-baja-road-trip-or-i-wish-that-i-knew-what-i-know-now-when-i-was-three-weeks-younger.9290/#post-211707

In which Nighty bumbles through the hill country, and Matt B is par excellence.

I'm glad everyone survived and had a good time and even caught some fish! I'm super happy that @Pink Nighty is at least attempting to put my ol' Fishcat Panther to good use. ;)

Waders that will last me at least 5 seasons

Just picked up my new S14 Dryft waders from the hq this morning. ‘Twas nice to meet the folks and it feels good to support local community members. Apparently the changes are mostly cosmetic so if you don’t care about the latest in wader colors this is a good time to save money.

    Getting started with fly tying

For materials: do you have a local fly shop? My local shop is the first stop for everything. Otherwise, I tend to buy online from Spawn Flyfish. There are a ton of good tying videos online from Spawn and many others, and they have all helped me immensely. Keep things simpler and sparser than...

The crew neck and zip neck are long sleeve and have a more "Euro" fit than "North American" fit. Consider your stereotypical Swede vs. 'Merican body shape. Size guide is here

Cleaning out the gear room and geez, I've got too much stuff that's just been sitting around for far too long. Make offers if you don't like the prices. Gotta start somewhere! Bonus points for local handoffs in Whatcom County, otherwise buyer pays shipping. Top: Scott polarized $30 Bottom...

Waders that will last me at least 5 seasons

I drive by their HQ all the time (it's right next to Mt. Baker Ski Area's office on Iowa) and figured it was worth a shot. I did the same thing when I bought my first pair back in 2020.

WDFW Wild Trout Harvest Policy Meeting 11/14

There was a lot of discussion over an amendment (which wanted to bake in management for non-retention and/or other possible gear restrictions unless there's actual data to show populations can sustain harvest) that didn't get added on as a stop-gap intermediate measure between "free for all" and...

Waders that will last me at least 5 seasons

Another pro for Dryft: I just put my money where my mouth is and ordered another set, but I was able to skip shipping fees and arrange a time to pick them up from their HQ in Bellingham. Obviously that may not work for everyone but it's a great perk for those that are in or planning a trip to...
