    Bass on the fly advice...

I talked to a SA rep about bass bug vs the Titan Long and they said "Yes, taper/weight is exactly the same. The Titan Long uses a cold water core and coating while the Bass Bug uses a tropical coating over a cold water core. The construction of the Bass Bug is meant to cover the typically warmer...

I double checked on that, and all I could find was that we could not go to shore on the DOE side.

    Exploring Hanford Reach by boat

Looking for advice on birding / sightseeing the Hanford Reach. Is this time of year good for that? My wife loves birding and looking for critters so thought we might make the drive over and launch our jet boat at Vernita. I used to work at the site way back when but have never seen it from...

    New Sage fly rods

I am sure I will try one the next time I need (want?) another rod. I always try them, but have chosen other brands since the XP/Z-Axis days. I have two Z's and they are still my favorite lake / bass rods. Hey, if you got the $$ and fall in love with the new model, then go for it. Who am I to...

    Camping/Fishing Rigs and Routines

Here is half of our setup, the mobile fish lab. We bought this in 2010 after using a popup for five years. We spent the $$ to get it outfitted the way we wanted and to this day we say we would get the exact same thing if we were to buy something new. It is 23' so not to big to get to the...

    NFR High Cholesterol

yeah, +1, same with us. My wife is a vegan, and I am far from it, but we prepare meals from scratch and do not anything in box or can. For shts and giggles take a look at the ingredients of everything you eat and avoid anything with added sugar. That right there will cut your carbs waaaay...

Coated Running Line Crowd - solution?

I used that on a couple of reels for several years. Really liked the stuff. Very sensitive. My home shop stopped stocking it so I switched to something else, but I may go back. The people running the company are great. I needed to weld some loops so I called them and they sent the shrink...

    tippet for smallmouth?

Hope to get serious about smallmouth fishing on the Snake this year around Lewiston to fill in time between fall steelhead and summer trout. Is there a favorite type of tippet you recommend? I have my stuff for steelhead, 8 to 12# maxima ultragreen, and my tippet for trout, up to 3x in both...

Is the (Utah) Green River below Flaming Gorge dam worth a visit?

    Does Montana Count As "PNW"?

We all have our own perspective. I grew up in small towns in eastern OR and eastern WA. My dad worked for the USFS and was transferred to the front slope of Colorado at the end of my senior year in high school. I told them there was no way I was moving back east with them.

    Does Montana Count As "PNW"?

It depends. I am from eastern WA and Mossback's map has always been what I thought of as the PNW. But, I teach many students from the I-5 corridor and to them the Pacific Northwest stops at the Cascade Crest when you are heading east on Snoqualmie Pass.

    Let's see your flotilla😀

I have a couple of float tubes but have not used them in several years. I mainly use my Outcast Pac10 for small rivers and non-motorized lakes. It's the one on the right in the photo below. Use the power boat for bass on the Snake in spring, and getting to steelhead runs on the other side of...

    Floating line for bass bugs?

Perfect timing on this thread. Anyone try the SA Anadro? Was going to use it on a 6wt for smallmouth on the Snake.
