@Northern I was actually going to post the stealth bombers as well. Great fly; tie them weedless and toss them in the thick stuff.

How would you rate the bite? Sit n wait retrieve or aggressive pops? Water temp? Fish I have been finding have come closer to shore than anticipated.

That gives me the idea for a fly name: M90 or Cherry Bomb. Now I just need to figure out what it looks like.

You gave the popper a valiant effort. It was an honorable skulking. 😉

    Hiking in?

A 65l backpacking sufficient for all the gear and will hold the weight better than the float tube straps.

The tail was one of my favorite parts. I can't remember the last time I had a fish pull half the rod into the water!

NFR Has anyone heard from Old Man Jim? Update: RIP OMJ. Give ‘em hell wherever you are!

When i first joined the old board I found that OMJ fished some of the same blue lines in the area I lived. He gave me some pointers and I shared some fishing reports of his old haunts. A true character. Cheers to Jim. He'll be missed.

Next time I want to have an 8wt with a fast full sink and my Garmin Striker rigged up to help stay in the zone longer. Maybe Mark a fish or two on it. I had an 8wt, but only with a slower type 3 sink.

This little diddy whipped up by @Sir Homey. Simple, sparkly, and effective. My favorite type of fly.
