    My 5 Year Report

Sounds like a great few years! I thought I'd caught some strong fish in my day until I hooked into a red off a dock in Charleston; those suckers can PULL. If my wife didn't hate heat and humidity, I'd strongly consider a move to redfish territory.

    Jon Boat Oar Lock Sockets

The locks are actually clamped on to the oars! It's great cuz I can just toss 'em in the car and throw the boat on the roof. I'm looking for the sockets, as 60 years of use has worn them down a bit.

I wonder if Liquid Electrical Tape would adhere. Just paint the contact points and call it good. edit: This could also be an option

    Puget Sound

:o Starry was one of the first fish I caught out of Puget Sound; flounder and sculpin kept me busy until I figured out how to get silver fish to eat flies. Clouser right on the bottom works pretty well.

    Jon Boat Oar Lock Sockets

Something like some 4 or 6 mil plastic? Or perhaps a thin epoxy layer would be more durable?

    Jon Boat Oar Lock Sockets

"some" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there! :ROFLMAO: I've got some nylon inserts, and they work ok. More of a vanity thing than a functionality issue; got the boat from my dad and I'd like her to be back in fighting shape, ya know? She's older than I am by about 25 years, so she's lookin'...

    Jon Boat Oar Lock Sockets

I'm pretty sure it still happens, just not as aggressively as in the salt? The internet has told me that it's both crucial to not mix metals and that it's not a big deal, so 🤷‍♂️

    Jon Boat Oar Lock Sockets

Been needing to replace the sockets on my jon boat; anybody have a bead on aluminum ones like this? I've found a ton of steel ones, but don't want to corrode my boat. Could have sworn I found some that were almost an exact match like, last year, but foolishly didn't pick em up, now I can't find...

Big year on the farm. In addition to the standard tomatoes, peppers, and basil, we got: taters in buckets: Taters in the compost (plus volunteer mystery squash): Fancy petunias: And I finally got a ginger root to sprout! Not pictured are onions, cantaloupe seedlings, radishes, and some...

    Indicator fishing / Stillwater

I know they're not trout, but I got some glow in the dark indicators and have been having a blast floating leeches at night. It's surprisingly effective.

    SFR Corner crossing update

"The Supreme Court’s action affirms a principle hunters and anglers have long understood: corner crossing is not a crime,” said Devin O’Dea, Western Policy & Conservation Manager for BHA. “Access to 3.5 million acres of public lands has been secured because four hunters from Missouri took a leap...

    Fish ID Assistance Please

Just looking at it, you would think that it's a fine specimen of a Bull Trout, but that's a common mistake! What you've actually got there is a rare Pacific Bluefin Staghorn Brush-footed Greenback Rock Carp. You can tell by the way it is. Great catch!

SFR Aliens, Bigfoot, and other unexplained phenomena!

BACK TO UFOS! In the summer of 2019, my wife moved from our home in Wyoming to Lincoln, Nebraska. I was to follow a year later after wrapping some things up out West (little did we know a pandemic was coming). In the between time, we would take turns making the 500-mile drive to see each other...

    Rain

If y'all have extra rain, send it on my way. Had a depressing scout around our lakes in Lincoln on Saturday; our reservoirs are drying up. I was walking the bottom of the dam on one; if we don't get some serious precipitation before it freezes they're gonna have a heck of a fish kill.
