Jojo, those look like male cones of a deodar cedar. Perhaps it has just grown big enough in recent years to be producing abundant cones.

English hawthorn aka Crataegus monogyna. Badly invasive in many places in western WA. My recommendation would be to remove them. There are ways to poison the cut stumps,otherwise you will have to cut stump sprouts for a few year. Our native hawthorns are mostly east of the Cascades.

Dredge fairly fast, deep runs with small nymphs in almost any western river that also holds trout and you will catch some whities. I find that in the summer they often form schools in these runs, too.

The best method I have found for getting fleas off an infested dog (I realize this may not be your entire problem), is washing with Dawn liquid dish soap. This was recommended to me by a vet as cheaper and as effective as any flea shampoo. Man, did those dead fleas come washing off in the rinse!
