    Redemption!

After my outing with @mcswny a couple of days ago where a hog (for this particular system) broke me off, and then where I ended up going for an unplanned swim, I needed a bit of redemption. The boy and I loaded up our 3wts and took the relatively short drive back to this particular creek...

    General Creek Opener

Hell of a day. Can’t wait to do it again next week. This little guy was definitely worth the swim.

Wading boots with good arch support

I had a pretty bad case of plantar fasciitis, and had to put insoles in all of my shoes, including my wading boots. I use various Superfeet insoles in my street shoes, but found these Powerstep insoles work great in my wading boots. I've had them in for a year or more, and I have no complaints.

    The good boat deal thread

Looks like it sold already. I hope one of y'all got it.

    The good boat deal thread

Seems like a pretty sold deal. If I was in the market, I probably would have snatched this up. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/828885839165543/

    Nymph boxes

The Tacky boxes are great. If you want to save a few bucks, the Lost Creek Silicon Slim Fly Box at Sportsmans is pretty decent (and I'm sure this box is sold under a bunch of other generic brands).

    NFR What Are You Reading

Rereading the Song of Ice and Fire books. I finished A Game of Thrones again last week, and moved on to A Clash of Kings this week. I think I’ve lost all hope that Winds of Winter or Dream of Spring will come out before Martin dies.

    Merrill Lake closure

I don't have an answer here, but I finally decided to get a Washington license this year, and Merrill was on my list to check out. Bummed if this is the case.

Same anchor, but paired it with a dive reel.

    NFR Time Share Exit Advice?

Also, be careful with disclaimers. I'm an estate planning and probate attorney, and disclaimers are a pretty complicated thing. When you sign and file a disclaimer, the court treats you as if you died before the dead person. You may be pushing your interest in the timeshare onto your kids, or on...

    Just needed a tug…

After a long winter of not catching fish and @clarkman picking my pocket, I needed a tug on the end of my line. At this point, size didn’t matter. So, the boy and I went to a reliable lake for a bit of small, but necessary, action. A bit misty on the drive up. A nice calm cool morning. A...

    Blob Flies!

I mixed it up. Top and bottom rows have two on jigs, two on a wide gap scud-ish hook with a tungsten bead, and two unweighted. Other rows have some combination of the same (determined by what beads I had on hand).

Anyone use the Fishpond Thunderhead Hip Pack?

Another non-direct comparison, but I also have a Patagucci waterproof hip pack. It's comfortable enough with the shoulder strap. The main zipper is a bit a of a chore to open and close, even if you keep it lubed. The Thunderhead's main zipepr is a different design, so maybe it's easier. One...
