    Lacto fermentation

Hey Zak, my usual red onion pickling goes like this, steep in hot water for 20 minutes. Drain and cover with 1 to 2 cups of fresh squeezed lime juice…and some salt.

    Watermaster who fishing them?

I’ve had a Grizzly for years. I like it more than a pontoon I had. The only issue is how slow it rows, due to its large surface tension. But that helps it hold better in the wind. Otherwise I love it…

    Personal Health?

Well, I really don’t know how but I seem to have dropped about 10 pounds. I weighed myself last week. I’m at 154. I have noticed that my pants are fitting a lot looser and I have to cinch my belt up more. The odd thing is I really haven’t changed much of anything. I walk anywhere from a mile and...

    Chopaka's Evolution

    81 years ago today.

The largest Seaborn operation took place on the beaches of France. It was the start of our push to liberate Europe from the Nazis. Very few if any survive today that were on those beaches. And then there were those who died there. So take a moment to reflect on the courage that all of those men...

    Bamboo Fling

Two guys responsible for introducing me to bamboo rods came to the ranch to fish local lakes. @Para_Adams and @Dave Westburg joined me for a couple of days. We fished two local lakes. Dave had never been to either one. So it was a new experience for him. Ron on the other hand is an old hand for...

2025 a month in the Okanogan

Hey Shawn, thanks for the Intel you sent us earlier. It turned out to be true. One of our most favorite lakes was an absolute bust. But two others stood the test and produced great fish. We need to stop passing each other on the road and get together sometime.

    Got any bird pics?

Three, possibly 4 phoebes. They have been nesting here year after year at the house, but this is the first we’ve actually seen the babies.
