    Rod grip replacement

I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this. I’ve got a centerpin rod that I don’t use because I dislike the grip. I’m curious if it’s possible to remove the grip and replace it. Additionally, if it is possible, I’d like to know if anyone here can recommend someone who’d do this type of...

HELP, Landowner Blocking Historical Access Point to the Miami River, How To Proceed

It’s a pretty place and not at all surprising that someone would try to restrict access. You might post this information on ifish. It seems like there are a lot of people with connections to that area on that site.

    What's in your vise?

I like these ties a lot. I could see something similar in blood red and white working too. What is the darker pink material in the “tail” on the left?

    Favorite fish/story/trip of 2024?

All of the fishing I did this last year was within 80 miles of my house, most of it much closer. I’m tempted to say that my favorite fish and fishing was in the lazy stretch of stream down the hill from home in the early June evenings after work and before dinner with this guy: But there were...

Using up all the fish scraps

We put all the fish bits except the skulls into the pressure cooker with other kitchen scraps (chicken skins, greens, carrot peels), beans and rice. Cook everything down until the bones are dissolved and then supplement their dry food with the mush. I’ve found that it’s best to put the cooker...

    What's Catching You Fish?

You’re right about the tail. I like the name too and have spent time thinking about why it has that name while I fish it but have yet to settle on an answer. The fly looked goofy to me the first time I tied it but it’s grown on me and I found it really effective.

    What's Catching You Fish?

Spent a couple hours on the water in the sun after work. Woodcutter in size 8 got cutthroat from every run.

    Small wet fly hook

Some valid questions and information buried in there. I was thinking of wet flies as something along the lines of the flies addressed in Dave Hughes’ book Wet Flies. So, soft-hackles, winged and wingless wets and fuzzy nymphs.

    Small wet fly hook

I’ve been tying small (16-10) wet flies on two models of Tiemco hook. I most often use the TMC9300 which is a 1x heavy, wide gape hook but use the TMC3761 (2x heavy and 1x long) if I’d like a longer body on the fly. I’m curious to know if anybody has particular models that they love for wets.

    Basic river rules

Important to remember that shallow doesn’t always mean safe wading. Current can be swift enough in shallow stretches to move small rocks beneath a boot.

    What's Catching You Fish?

Both cutthroat and rainbow really liked this today.

    River Snorkeling with Cutthroat

I guess I just thought if I mentioned a good spot to see a lot of cutts not only you but everyone who read the reply would know where those fish were and go there. Best of luck.

    River Snorkeling with Cutthroat

I really like how SpawnFlyFish just refers to “a local river” in the description of their video. Asking members on a public forum to name spots on these two little streams seems like not the best idea.

    What's Catching You Fish?

I fished it in 14 and 12. The twelve was better.
