Not giving it up completely, just selling a lot of things I don’t want to keep in storage. My wife and I plan to return to the Seattle area about every four months for a week or so.
In the late 70’s I went with the recommended 9’ 5 wt, but I fished the east side of the state mainly. I then realized in, the last 15 years, that since I mainly fish stillwater on the west side for trout, I prefer a 9 1/2’ 4 wt.
Selection for a beginner would be a 9 1/2’ 4 piece 5wt.
For freshwater lakes sinking lines the best I had was Cortland 444. My Rio sink lines tangled too much, so, I went to SA. SA is also my floating line. Leaders and tippets are Rio.
I have everything you need including thread, feathers, materials, hooks, etc. and haven’t tied in over a year. I will also be moving to Mazatlan in a year because I am retired .
