    Enos Bradner's Lake

Beautiful ties. I think I have always valued out local steelhead flies more than trout flies. So many great tiers and colorful people.

    Other Hobbies?

I'm an upland bird hunter, mostly for quail and chukar, and I've been hunting over English setters for many years. Several years ago I also got into turkey hunting and it's also a huge passion for me. It's like big game hunting without the hassle. Away from hunting I enjoy shooting long distance...

    Vintage Fly Rod

You may or may not encounter Montague haters on the Classic Fly Rod forum, they are not considered a very collectable rod, or even a very good rod, but don't let that sway you. I have a nephew who bought a Montague (don't know which model) and it casts very well. Have fun with it.

    Zen Braided Silk Fly Lines

FYI, this past winter I purchased a new braided silk line from Jaime Chriswisser at Zen Outfitters, in Idaho. I've waited to review this line before making a post. I've fished it now a half dozen times and I feel comfortable reviewing it. It's still not totally broken in yet but I'm really happy...

    Enos Bradner's Lake

Brings back good memories, Dave. I used to fish Brad's Brat a lot. And Bob Heirman's book was great. Thanks for posting this.

    Keeping a yearly fishing journal...

I used to keep one of these Write in The Rain fishing journals. I have one year completed, but I stopped using one because I never really did anything with the info I collected.

    Lone Lake

My wife and I released a beautiful bow there along the west shore a couple of years go and then heard a huge splash about five feet in front of my pram. That eagle is fast and takes advantage of the opportunity.

Anchor Systems and Rod Holders for Plastic Pram

Hello, I have an older plastic pram and I'd like to get an anchoring system for the bow and stern (or one or the other) and at least two rod holders for trolling or rod storage while casting. My boat is molded something-or-other, maybe polystyrene? I'm wondering what brands/types of gear to...

Does anyone know when the general river opener is? Is it the weekend before Memorial day?

    Herters rod

In the 1960's Herter's opened a store for a brief time near Fort Lewis/Nisqually. It was fun to visit. I still have a couple of Russell Green River style knives my dad bought there.

Nice job on the reel. I'll be using mine at Rocky Ford on Monday afternoon.
