    How's summer going?

Eeekkk!!! 😮 j/k...they are indeed a challenge, fished for 'em in Colorado...super selective and will only bite a fly while actively feeding, and will peel your reel faster than an big steelhead...my buddy's hand got bloodied trying rim one to save his drag! I haven't hunted 'em in Oregon yet...

the Mother of Canyon River trouts

Thanks for the reply I found it just a few minutes ago, I like the "improved" riffle hitch aspect of the knot ...question, do you find that the knot wastes an inordinate amount of mono? It appeared that about 16 or so inches was cut off and brushed aside. I haven't had a minute to experiment...

    Sub $100 3 wt reel?

Since drag is a non-issue...look at Maxcatch or Picifun...I have both on rods up to 6wt...7wt or higher gets a better drag, naturally

This is a post I did on another forum with almost the same question...thought some of it may apply Remember, winter steelhead are typically not hungry, they are territorial because they just came into this cramped river after swimming around in the wide open ocean AND they're full of love...
