    Marine Area 11

I've heard that they are using the sample fishing from both the tribes and DFW and then applying the enounters to the angler population. Unfortunately, I know firsthand that one of the DFW guys is super fishy... I only caught like four or five sublegals in the 9 days I fished while it was open...

    Puget Sound

Yesterday I fished Jeff Head. I trolled most of the day but during the slack I was able to get a stop on some herring busting of the surface. Was able to get a few plucks but no commitment. I did catch a big native fish that had a tussel with a sea lion. Poor fish had a huge bite mark and a...

    Dirtbag sockeye

We love camping at Lake Wenatchee, but you have to make reservations in January to be able to snag a campground. I noticed that the state park doesn't open until 6:30. Is sockeye a morning game? I'm assuming that you want to get off the water before the heat hits

    Dirtbag sockeye

This is a bucket fishing trip for me. Not going to happen this year, but I would love to do camping with the kids and fish.

    Puget Sound

I've grown up fishing the Puyallup and there are a large amount of smaller coho that run up the river in August. There were a ton of these smaller fish in MA 11 this year and I've just thought of them as those fish that return up the river early

    Your "Go To" salmon recipes...

I've just got Johnny's Seafood seasoning that I've been using for crab. Last night used a teaspoon of truffle oil with a dash of that seasoning on a grilled rezzie from Friday and it was to die for...

    Your "Go To" salmon recipes...

Almost all blackened recipes that I have used are basically equal ratios of paprika, chili, onion, and garlic powders and maybe some cumin. https://www.thecookierookie.com/blackened-seasoning-recipe/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwzdOlBhCNARIsAPMwjbxbqmQOeBbJajeI0ZKCv80IvADNEj7A4PGVSKX_s6yr0z8WCiSwBrQaAkfSEALw_wcB

    What Are You Eating?

Not the nicest looking plate of sushi, but hard to beat spot prawn sushi. Brushed with a ponzu sauce and topped with sesame seeds.

BBQ Salmon... foil or direct on the grill?

I did some cilantro and garlic with the juice of the lime and half and orange. Its got a zing to balance out my hot sauce. The cabbage was tossed also with some lime, orange, and a spoonful of my dad's honey. So yes, muy Rico.

BBQ Salmon... foil or direct on the grill?

Oh yeah. I always believe there is a place for grilled salmon on the grill like every has talked about, but we eat enough fish that I like to have some variety. This in particular was some of the last of my fish from last season, so it could use a bit more seasoning to balance out flavors.

    Coffee talk

This has been real nice. The wife likes lots of chocolate smooth coffee rather than the florals and this has really fit the bill.

    Danish Stripping Baskets

I found a foldable fabric laundry basket which I use as my stripping basket on the boat. I think it works a lot better and was a lot cheaper too.

    Salmon Jigging Rods

I use a lamiglass black inshore rod. It moves the jig a lot but even that cause some issues with the hooks getting tangled. I fished with standard salmon gear too and they did fine. Most of the time the bites you get are pretty vicious so I wouldn't worry too much about sensitivity for bite...
