Earlier this this year I was using 50 lb fluro for trolling flashers. Basically to repeat, they are not leader shy. That said, this weekend they barely touched the 50lb and I dropped it down to 30 and it made a huge difference

Last year I tied up a trolling fly with a stinger hook to use behind a flasher. I had already caught multiple fish on this fly, but somehow I had a coho take the hook off the stinger loop without breaking the loop. Straight up magic ring magic trick

My favorite is a bit of both. Get your oil hot and then brown your butter before placing your salmon in. Flip and add another pat of butter.

It's crazy where the creel guys come from. A lot are either in school or just off of school and coming from out of state. DFW did a rockfish identification quiz a bit ago. Maybe they should have a salmon one and train their own staff.

I saw someone trying this on Monday and that poor crab was so mutilated you couldn't recognize it. I'm sure it works great fort someone more experienced and had been shown how to do it correctly.
