Fished the extreme high tide this morning. Dead calm. I cast to two sippers with my floating krill. Missed the first and caught the second. A nice 14-15 incher. An hour and a half of stalking and standing. Not for the impatient. Good thing I had a good cigar . . . Leland

The oldtimers fishing gear for steelhead at Bush Pt were using orange and white hootchies. So easy to make up your own fly with marabou on a #4 hook. Fish it on an intermediate line. Don't wade past your ankles. Cast long and strip long and slow. Leland.

I spoke last evening at the Fidalgo Fly Fishing Club which merys at the Farmhouse on Hwy 20. Pretty raucous group of men and women (possibly because they meet at an Irish pub). They had me tie some of my poppers which was a first for me in all these years. There are some good tiers in this club...

That submerged white rock is being used by the carp in this pond to rub their sides. As they swim by they turn on their sides and give themselves a good little scratch. I’ve dubbed it “Rub Rock.” Leland
