    More Than a Year Later….

None of us had ever walked in water for that many miles. I had really bad shin splints by the evening of day 4. I didn’t anticipate that at all. It made sense considering the extended range of motion that my feet and lower legs were exposed to with the slipping on wet rock. A 5 day pack is...

    More Than a Year Later….

A little over a year ago my son and I did a 5 day backpack trip and I hired a cinematographer to go with us. Last week the film was finally finished and published. It was a frustrating process that took way more time than it should have but we have it forever now. The trip its self was one the...

    Damsels and Dragons

Oh wow...so I have probably seen one of those before but didn't recognize this one as that because of its age. I didn't know what the blue dragon flies were called but I have seen them. Thanks! I like knowing those kinds of things.

    Two Fly Question

That sounds like a great still water selection of bugs. I don’t fish still water but when I fish 2 nymphs I typically put the heavier fly on the bottom.

    Rifle, Rod, and Camera

It was 100% spontaneous and 100% out of character for me. I need to be less rigid sometimes. I lead a very organized life with lots of structure. Every now and then I need to do what I want instead of what I set out to do😀

    Rifle, Rod, and Camera

Yesterday morning I left the house with my rifle, a rod, and my camera. I had no real plan other than wanting to get back to an area that looked like a good spring bear area. Like much of N. Idaho right now, travel off blacktop is limited due to all the down timber from two big winter wind...

    Damsels and Dragons

I have no idea what type of dragon fly that is but it looked cool. I tried to switch lens’s to get a tighter shot but he didn’t stick around.

    Got any bird pics?

This Tom was with a hen. I almost didn’t stop to photograph him but he was so lit up I had to. Took me almost 20 minutes of cat and mouse to get a shot in the open and with the sun.

NFR TICKS - The Threat Grows

It’s been a very mild tick season in N. Idaho. I have no idea why it’s that way but it is.

NFR TICKS - The Threat Grows

I have been talking to friends about the prospects of being allergic to meat. If I had to chose between permanent Erectile dysfunction and a red meat allergy…I would need some time to think.
