Have a great trip. And yeah, the first ten minutes are fun. After that....I just want them off my line so I can chase the gamefish I'm after. You can tell immediately when you hook a shark. The fight is very different. It's like being hooked to a stubborn mule.

I'm not sure if there are any light tackle charters any more, Del Dykes retired and that genre is very underserved here. If you're interested in big game, you should try the Lepika. Captain Nitta is amazing, a fantastic fishing guide.

I greatly prefer bottom fishing now when I'm in the boat. After one has caught dozens of billfish and countless big ahi, it gets kinda old. I like the hands on approach of light tackle jigging. When I'm not fly fishing, that is....... 🤙
