NFR Sea Otters and Green Crabs

That's not accurate. The Oregon coast is losing it's kelp forests at a very rapid rate. Purple urchins. And Oregon has very few otters.

Yes, thank you everyone for all the details on how you've made an electric motor work! Great information! Good project for this winter.

Trolling motor on a Stealth Pro?

Thinking I should probably setup my Stealth Pro pontoon with an electric trolling motor. Has anyone done this and want to share what they've done, any tips, etc.?

    1.5 day tuna option

From the pics, it looks like 5 people could troll. 2 off each side, 1 off the back. Decent amount of space up front for a bait stop. Per the website, bunks on board and they provide meals. Starlink for insta, etc. Leave at 11 am. Return between 5-7 pm the next day.

    1.5 day tuna option

I believe this is a whole boat charter, not a per seat charter. Get a group of fly fishers and no worries about crossing up with braided line :). Get the evening and early morning bite. Price isn't to crazy. Something to think about on a gray winter day.

    1.5 day tuna option

Place in Ilwaco is offering 1.5 day tuna trips. Would mean a lot of fishing time probably. Legendz Sportfishing. Interesting option. Wonder if they would be fly friendly?

    Reliefband - Does it work?

I used the Reliefband twice. First time it worked great, no feelings of sea sickness. Second time the rollers were bigger, felt kind of sea sick, but not bad. Did have a bit of the feeling of still being on a boat for a couple hours afterwards. Upshot for me is that probably for mellow seas...

Our First Baja Road Trip. Or, I wish that I knew what I know now when I was (three weeks) younger

One thing we found with the roosters last summer. When there was bait being thrown, flies with some flash seemed to work better than flies with no flash. It goes against conventional wisdom, but that was our experience. Something to think about if you tie more flies.

    Vamos a la playa

Part 3 For day three of fishing, we again headed out about 7am. There was fog in the bay, but not to bad. On the way out, the guide was saying that he'd never had a day like yesterday here. If today was the same, the next day we'd go 30 miles south to the Impossible Banks. The Impossible Banks...

    Vamos a la playa

Part Two The night before, the guide had told us we didn't need to get going early for this fishery, and we'd head out at 8. We were up pretty early anyways and pumped to go. From the village we were at, most of the boats going out carried snorkelers that would jump in next to the bait balls...

    Vamos a la playa

Ok, finally the trip report. Got home last night. Warning - long and the first part is NFR. So, sometime last winter my kind of crazy fly fishing friend called and said he was planning two fishing trips down to Baja next year, did I want in? One was for roosters in the summer and one was for...

    Vamos a la playa

I'm still on the first part of the trip, hanging out at my friend's place in Los Alamos, NM. We're going to the Coug game against New Mexico in Albuquerque Saturday night. Family flies home Sunday morning and we start driving down to Mexico. Actual fishing starts, if all goes to plan, on...
