After seeing trout chase down skittering salmonflies on the madison I tied up several salmonfly poppers. My vision being I would fish them from a moving drift boat which would allow me to get more of a skitter pop presentation than a swinging wake. Maybe next year.

airlock 99.9% of the time but I always carry some poly yarn pre-treated in flyagra and o-rings. When you have to nymph super spooky fish on glassy water it makes a huge difference. Otherwise it's not worth it. Flyagra is a pretty essential component

I like both the breeze and the tradewind. I only ever wear the breeze in really hot weather, the tradewinds are a bit thicker but still dry quickly. They're my go-to on those days that start wader weather but turn into wet wading weather fast.
