One other thing, my buddy and I have been towing trailers of one kind or another for a combined 90 + years. In the last couple of years we have each had an incident of the hitch coming off the ball because the hitch tongue got trapped when lowered onto the hitch. Yes we recognize we are idiots...
What he said. Silly as it seems we have a printed check list to go over every time we hook up the trailer. Even when you know you have done everything right we go through it point by point. Additionally, I have a laminated card that reads STABILIZERS DEPLOYED that I put on the dash of my car...
If you think this is a hobby you will enjoy and continue with, buy good quality tools and a good quality vice. I stopped tying for several years when my kids were young, but it was great to get going again and have great tools to work with.
Great looking flies. I have never used eyes, I’m guessing you find them effective. Have you tied the same flies with and without eyes and found a difference?
Thanks for taking the time to write that up and share it with us. When we drove past there recently I mentioned to my wife we should make that a day trip destination.
I actually laughed out loud a few years ago when fiberglass three weights became the new must have. I mean sure I bought one, but come on, how stupid do they think we are?
Do you sit high enough that your butt and thighs are above the water? I have not used my float tube in 20 years, I just don’t ever fish lakes, but now I’m itching to buy one like yours.
As a child I hated split pea and ham soup….now I can’t imagine anything tasting so good. I add white sweet potato and double the onion and celery, but honestly any recipe is good.
