    Spotted my first cougar…

    I haven't seen a live one. I have seen one road killed. The most impressive thing about the tail was the thickness. I have waded the upper Sol Duc in a fog, When I went back upstream there were footprints and a belly print filling with water. That made my hair stand up.

    My heeler Moose would hike in, then lay on the bank and just watch. In the boat he would lay on the rowing seat while I waded. When he heard the clicker as a steelhead ran, he would jump out of the boat and run to me and try to herd the fish.

    Careful out there - OP water hazards

    Thanks for putting this up. This is one thing I don't like about the OP, a shit ton of guides and these things rarely get posted. Oregon has a web site that anyone can post hazards. it's on the State Marine Board site.
