Finding some cheap flights to Reno for March. Pyramid has always been on my bucket list. Thinking about hiring a guide one day and fishing on my own for a day or two. Planning on bringing my Sage X 7wt and my Winston 4wt spey rod. Any recommendations on outfitters, flies or places to fish ?

Heading to to Ascension Bay in April. Have a 7wt Sage X I figured I’d bring down for Bone fish if the wind isn’t too bad. Debating between a 9 or 10wt. Looking suggestions on rods & reels. Thanks,

Maybe not that exact one. However, a guide mentioned he was tying some sort of scented material and was consistently caching more fish compared to other people in his group that were using San Juans. I can’t say I recall anyone using scented material for fly tying. I never took up spin casting...

YNP traditionally has closed the last Sunday of November. Now it’s October 31st.

We went a couple years ago. I inquired about fishing lake Thingvallavatn and was informed that a guide/rod fee was around 1k a day. Some of the biggest brown trout in the world though.

Should be a good time! Not sure how I feel about some of the new fishing regulations in YNP.
