    Starter Two-Handed set up?

I have integrated Godshall lines. You are right, the head isn't much of an issue if stripped in, but it still takes an extra cast to get it comfortably out in front of the rod for the real OH cast. I get lazy and do a quick roll cast, then pick up for the main cast. Seems easier than a false...

    Starter Two-Handed set up?

Interesting thread to read for someone outside the realm. I was interested in learning the 2H overhead cast this past spring. Variety of reasons. For starters I needed a new challenge.😁 Being in Montana i had this idea to fish lakes from shore and my boat. Backcast space generally not an issue...

Honestly, I'm not a long range shooter. 400 yds max. This antelope season, the way things were going, I was expecting to reach out with a shot. And then luck turned. A good stalk set me up for a 100 yd shot off the knees while sitting. Last four antelope I've harvested were at 25 yds, 100 yds...

I'm thinking I might just cut steaks this year. Every time...i grind half of the animal, eat a couple steaks, then regret the grinding. 😒 Less work too! 😉

A big mirror carp shootin' blanks

Most people malign the carp. I think they are amazing sport with a fly rod. Won't say tops, because all fish offer a unique challenge.

The "How was your weekend?" thread...

Had a kitchen pass yesterday. Worked my 61 yr old legs on a mtb singletrack, gaining 800" in 45 minutes. Yeah, I know, but don't cross paths with many guys my age still riding. Fished a spot for the first time. Pleasantly surprised 😁

Quintessential championship basketball. Team basketball. Far more exciting IMO. Even got a little white guy draining it from half court at the buzzer.😁

Last Time You Were Totally Pumped

That's the thing, I have fished the salt a bunch. Just not recently. It will happen. Wish my spot was a little closer though.

Last Time You Were Totally Pumped

Given I only get a couple trips for tigers this year, I was pretty jacked just to see some follow my fly. The one that turned his head and stared me in the eye was in the 40" class. No telling what my response will be when I finally stick one.

The Cape of Cod (caution...hero shots)

I had a run of fishing for stripers every year in the 90's with my Dad. We fished a variety of locations Ipswich/ Plum Island, Vineyard, Orleans, and once Southern Maine/ Rhode Island. Brown dogs are awesome on a flyrod. I never had the timing to fish a bluefish blitz when the school pushes bait...

    Anchors away…

My ten pounder is marginal with wind holding my 16' boat. Went the redneck route one day and tied on a 25' lb free weight from my barbell set. Usually miss a lifting session when I fish, so two birds with one stone.😉

    NFR NBA 2024

What exactly would make you happy with a finals? A game 7? That is only something a non fan of either team would wish for. As a Celtics fan for longer than you have been alive, a sweep to me is as exciting as it gets. Hope they have room for another banner

    NFR NBA 2024

I tend to look more at the entire season than the " minutiae" of a finals. Playoff Celtics have elevated from top tier to unstoppable. Don't agree with there being a lack competitiveness from other teams...but the C's are simply a notch better.
