    Early Signs of Spring

Looks like Lesser Celandine or 'fig buttercup'. An invasive species.

    Early Signs of Spring

Rhododendron Strigillosum from Sichuan/Yunnan usually my second one to bloom in late winter/early spring behind R. Dauricum which blooms in winter but isn't nearly as flashy.

    OP Trip Chasing SteelHead

^^This! I've known and fished with Jim for almost 20 years and Ryan for at least half that long. I also have a house on the Sol Duc and my own little fleet of boats. Given those factors, I know that river pretty well and at least for the half day float stretch that ends in my back yard, I know...

    NFR Got any Herp pictures?

Both taken on the bike path in Tucson. California Kingsnake Western Diamondback Rattlesnake I've seen Diamondbacks on the bike path three separate times. Also a Gila Monster on a mountain bike ride but didn't get pictures of that one.

    NFR Got any Herp pictures?

The friend and I caught one in a neighbor's pool when I was in middle school, south of B'Ham AL. We ran around the neighborhood at night all that summer catching toads to feed the snake. Fed it way too much, like a toad a day. When we released it in the fall it looked like a 2' long cigar.

    Got any bird pics?

    Awesome Dogs of PNW

Apologies for the thread drift... I shoot with a couple digital Leica's these days. Back in the day, a 35mm M6 rangefinder was my camera of choice (along with some MF/LF gear) but I'm all digital at this point. However, I still love the look from classic Leica rangefinder lenses. Using them on...

    Awesome Dogs of PNW

Similar here. Parents had GSD's when I was growing up including a bunch of Schutzhund dogs. Great name (!) as in Hattori Hanzo? Herding dogs are the best. Yuki is 10 and given I just turned 61, I don't think I'll be physically up to another Belgian Shepherd puppy when she passes so I just do...

    Awesome Dogs of PNW

Very close! Belgian Tervuren which is basically a long-coated Malinois (Belgian Shepherds). In the US, it's considered a seperate breed. In Europe, they're treated as a single breed (Malinois, Tervuren, Groenendale) and are sorted out as puppies based on coat type. Her sire was a half-Mal Czech...

One more. Messing around with a Leica lens from 1952 that has radioactive glass (seriously). She obviously finds the whole 'photo model' thing tiresome... VintageYuki

I stop and snap a photo or two from this spot over and over as I like the vista and it's on my way as I drive to/from our place in Beaver. I've posted several in this thread, like here and here. Last week, I had my old Mamiya 6 medium format film camera with me for a longer-term project I've...

    NFR College Football 2025

For sure. Indiana kicked the shit out of us and even so, I think the discussion board loudmouths are not the majority. Long time, multi-generational, Bama fans like myself are not yelling "fire Deboer". At least not in my family and friends circle. We have been through the post-Bear debacles...
