I was busy last week repurposing old crappy flys and trying to make them look better. This is what I came up with for some summer Steelhead.

It was hot today so I hit the river to practice casting, and figured I’d freestyle. This is what I came up with. I suck at wings…

I’m slowly phasing out all mono running lines. I’m really enjoying how the Ridge running lines mend and fish. The summer set up is going to be a Gaelforce 63’ full line. It is amazing how delicate this line will cast and mend at some distance without having to strip a ton!

My go to rig is a 2008 Tundra. I bought it with 13,000 miles in 2009. I’ve be to North and South Dakota and everywhere in between. She’s got 149,000 miles on her now and has towed boats campers and has had plenty of dead things in the back. It’s been a good truck.

Well, steelheading around these parts are getting pretty slim, but you’ll find me a few days a week in the canyon casting long belly’s and keeping my spey game up to snuff in hopes that someday…. It also makes me feel good😎

I finally went through the drawers and organized all my crap. I think I had a problem at some point, don’t think I’ll need to order anything for tying ever😂

I also don’t hold a loop always, so it’s hard to hear the line peeling out while I’m spacing out and listening to tunes😎 it’s happened on Steelhead before, I had my tunes so loud I didn’t feel or hear my line peeling out on the hang down from a HOT Steelhead!
