This is my Grampas Imperial fillet knife. It’s worked for me for many, many years on fish, game and game birds. I’m sure there are better knifes out there, but they weren’t from my Grandpa. He’s been gone over 20 years. I truly love this knife.

My thoughts exactly on keeping the rod backwards. This rod is a 12’6” 4-6 Meiser. It’s all I use anymore for trout spey. It punches through the wind on the yakima really well using a Scandi line and the action has the feel of an old Sage brownie. It’s got plenty of poop to get fish in quickly...

I just like it better that way. I also don’t want to smack the top two sections of the rod with an oar by accident.

Oh boy… that’s a tuff one. I’ve got a box full of soft hackles and then some bigger stuff in white, olive and black. Today I was using a jig style bait fish fly and a jig style black leech with tungsten beads and a floating line.

I used to religiously Dove hunt every September, I’m not sure why I ever stopped…? I may just have to give it a go one of these evenings, I’ve seen lots of them around.

I usually bring 1 or 2 slim Wheatley box’s and only carry one. I mess around switching flys back and forth at camp in the evening when I’m bored. Like most have said, out of all the Steelhead patterns I might fish like 4 of them😂
