FREE: Fly Tying Materials, tools, etc.

I thought the canoe and rod vault were already listed! The canoe is tempting for sure. ;)

    Wireless kill switches

When I finally end up with a boat larger than my Tyee Spirit with 6hp tiller - where I use the cord attached to my PFD - I'll install a wireless kill switch. It's nice to be able to move around the boat w/o being tethered to the motor or console. IMO there's no reason to NOT use a kill switch...

Waders that will last me at least 5 seasons

I got a set of Dryft S14 in 2020 and they are still going strong. DWR wore off a few years ago and there might be a pinprick leak where the neoprene meets the shell material, or it could just be condensation from the inside, but, after hundreds of days of 99% saltwater use I'm impressed. They're...

What's Your Favorite Feature of Your Fishing Kayak?

I get the feeling that the big tubby SOT fishy kayaks are designed to be primarily propelled by pedal or motor drive and paddling is the backup. My sea kayaks are open water crushers but they've got closed decks and run ~17' long and ~24" wide and aren't fun to fish out of.

    Short Lightweight Rain Jackets

I have and like the Patagonia SST. Seems like they don't make it anymore but you may be able to find some NOS online. https://ironbowflyshop.ca/products/patagonia-ms-sst-jacket?variant=39980570181826

    Block Island Stripers

I haven’t caught a pink in a couple cycles now but stripers are amazing fish. They have a different style of fight than coho. Less air and possibly the runs aren’t as fast but overall more brawl if that makes any sense. Half the time coho fights are awesome with runs and jumps and the other half...

    Official Beach Line Thread

Welp, I've now joined the blown out Rio OBS club, and it only took about 10 days of use! Mine looks like that SA line pictured above. Hopefully I can get it replaced without too much trouble.

car toppable or inflatable dog-friendly small watercraft advice sought

I've seen some youtube videos where Portabote users do some wild and crazy things. Sounds like they'd be ideal for your needs, with the weight being a possible exception. https://portabote.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopiV5m-HKdia-JU3K3lomp-cTsRkvUJqexpTB2dJNgGzTg9JTZe

    Official Beach Rod Thread

Currently I'm using an Arctic Silver Compact 1.0 floater 6wt on the Axiom II-X. The AS compact (and more recently the compact 2.0) is my benchmark line. I also have an OBS F/H/I 6wt that I like. Haven't tried it on the Axiom II-X yet but it works well on the BB and 84b. My first experience...

    Official Beach Rod Thread

I've given my new TFO Axiom II-X 6wt some testing and so far I like it for $199 but I'm still thinking the Echo 84b is the solid new favorite with the Boost Blue in 2nd spot. Axiom II-X seems a bit more sluggish/heavy than the Boost Blue. I have to slow down my cadence a lot more with the Axiom...

Real costs/experiences of an outboard repower?

I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for the right option but figured I may use the collective experience here for some education on boat brands/styles that I'm not experienced with. Seems like there are a lot of aluminum boat brands that have clones in the 18' range. What's the difference...

    What's Catching You Fish?

Who knows when I'll be back here doing this but I got a few more stripers from the home waters yesterday evening. This little one broke the skunk Followed by another junior The sun went down behind the hills so I called last cast and found a willing player. 25" and a handful on the 6wt...
