    Early Signs of Spring

I was out to a local still water and it looked like onion soup, midge's started hatching and some trout were slurping some. I didn't catch any fish but it was a beautiful day around 60 degrees. Now this coming week it is gonna get cold and nasty again for a few days. We really need some snow in...

    Guns

I have been shooting for ever it seems. Starting around 6 or 7 years old. Dad was an LEO so I got the gun safety first, safe storage, safe handling, safe shooting. For fun shooting I like my Ruger Mark II and as I've gotten older I carry a Ruger 1911 in 9mm for self-defense. Remember this "Gun...

    $500 Pikeminnows.

Does anyone know where Crecent bar is? My son and I were fishing for smallies in the bay behind the trailer park. When we started catching NPM in the two or three pound class. I would stick a knife through the back of their head and back bone and put them back in the bay. We caught a couple...

Really nice agate. Some good looking water I think that our problem with not hooking up some fish is the lack of fish in our rivers

    2026 goals- Fishy edition

For me as I'm getting older and the last time I was out on the river in an easy access place and the hard time I had keeping from falling down. I'm going to turn to going after the warm water fishes from my boat. Now I have to wrap my mind around going out and about in my boat alone.

    Temporary river fishing

Well I guess my secret is out. Some of the hottest fishing I've ever had has been in the fall when the lakes have been drawn down and the cold clear creek water is pouring in. And no I'm not going to name any of those lakes. Another secret I'll give to you is when the river is blown out and...

    Rod Overboard

Good luck finding yer rod. This reminds me of an evening fishing a private lake in Okanogan Co. WA. I had rowed the boat to shore, laid my rod down with the fly still in the water and just as I went to step out, bang the rod jumped into the lake. Just a reminder to never let go of yer rod when...

Did you leave something on the boat ramp…

I wasn't there and I can still find my ass if I use both hands. When I was a teenager I lost my hunting knife, the very next day some miles away from where I lost that knife, I found another hunting knife that was better. Sorry about the side track. Getting side tracked is easy for me these days

    SFR Waders for Women

I think that Redington has the best selection of waders. For myself and my lady I have found up sizing is better than sizing to fit. One size up will give ya better movement. Also one size up on the wading boot also

    Snakes & Ticks

Yer gonna be safe from snakes and ticks in November. When I used to fish RFC Oct. to March were some of the best times on the creek. My go to flies were olive scuds in size14, olive mini leach in #12s, and a #10 light gold glo bug.
