I used to do that as a kid, we would wade through the grassy sections up at Birch Bay with a Y shaped stick with some rope tied between the Y.. scoop them up and check if they were legal and then mom would often cook them on the beach!

I lost my dad when I was 15. Took a long time to deal with it, really I just kept busy at school and then work. When I turned 40 I started to visit him regularly. Still do! Time doesnt heal wounds, but makes it easier to deal with. I seem to lose friends in 3s now. Lost a few dear friends...

I'm pretty sure if you get checked you can show them your drivers license they can just look up your fishing license. I'm sure that dropping your phone isn't an uncommon occurrence while fishing. I had one friend who was fishing on a rock, up high on the Sky and dropped his phone into a gap...
