What's the hook configuration, wire?

Has any one ever tried just using 8lb braid wrapped onto a spool? It would be super cheap to have a couple of lifetimes worth. I've tried with some 50lb I had, but it is bulky. Although I challenge anyone to break it before they break their vise ;-)

Honestly it hit me the other day as I was looking through everything how stupidly much I have. I'm also trying to start tying more and so it's even more absurd. Glad there's another Florida man on the board.

Honestly with the body wrap maybe 20-30 minutes. I'm relatively new to tying and have no doubt with practice I could get it down to 10-15 minutes.
