Dudes…if anyones down for a euronymph swap, I’d be in to participate! I don’t think I’m up for hosting another one for a while but would gladly tie flies for it.

Traveled there during some of the more extreme COVID restrictions. And definitely avoided it until after the restrictions lift. Shit was terrible… But what really bummed me out was Canadian buddies not being able to head this way. Hoping it’s a universal change this time…

Finally back in town long enough to get these in the mail! Had a few days at home to sort through everything and get them shipped out. Should be in a mailbox near you very soon. (Realized as I was shipping them out that I could've dropped a few of these off in person to a few of you in WA...

Back from fishing with a pile of mail and a few more packages in there. Will take an inventory tonight. We might be ready!

You’re just an over achiever and wanted to ship them twice! Now for a real moral dilemma…I’m steelheading this weekend. Do I sneak out with one of my flies from the swap, or wait until it’s all finalized. 🤠 I think I’ll wait. (Unless I don’t.)

Rit Dye from the craft store to worked great for me when I used to do this...granted it was deer hair and bird feathers, but it worked awesome. Its been a long-time so my memory is fuzzy but I think the liquid dye was more consistent than the powder stuff. Might need to experiment though.

How do you like those carbon fiber grips? I’ve never used them but the last time I built a rod, cork was my least favorite part.

Dang! I’m definitely making a salmon fly pattern out of cork this year…that’s awesome.

All sh**posting aside, I really need to thank everyone for joining in on this swap. It really did motivate me to get back into fly tying. I’m amazed at how hard it is to get my technique back together though. Years ago I could do this in my sleep and I’m really struggling! Thanks all.

Lady Amherst center tails…I had a few pieces hanging around and tossed in what I could. Same with the jungle cock. I had an old skin that my neighbors dog got a hold of when the bastard snuck into my garage. So they’re a little beat up, but hey…so am I! 🤣

Love it! Got a super buggy thing going on…and the wing reminds me of the royal treatment fly out of the shop in West Linn, OR. I’d consider that cork as a good celebratory omen.

Current choice at the moment based on all of this: sawyer square tops (still debating shoal cut vs. standard).

Help me out here…is that a good thing or bad thing? I don’t think my current plastic/metal clackacraft issued oars have ever flexed an inch. Kinda like rowing with two telephone poles.
