    Backpacking...

How many backpackers do we have on this forum? Bet we could combine knowledge and have a pretty damn good database for fishing in the Cascades and Olympics. Would have to be locked down and available to only trusted contributors somehow. Be cool to develop a database we could all add to...

    Riverstick Custom Wading Staffs

I have watched the thread on the other site for some time. I want one. What's your Paypal? I think erring on a little longer would be best, right? I'm right at 5/11 with boots on. 53". I think I want to get one for me elderly dad for just walking too. Anyone use it like this? He uses...

    Classifieds Requirements

Gotta say I don't mind the posting and contribution requirements to sell things here. It's a tough topic to get right. 5$ to weed out the knuckleheads is well worth it. Everyone selling things on the other site are new members. In the long run, this classifieds will be better. Way to go...

    Meat Fishing

Been a while since I have used Power Bait - but that @!$# works! In my teen years, this was the way I learned to fish by myself. Bullet weight above a swivel. Leader with a small treble hook. Power bait. Caught lots of hatchery trout. I guess it makes sense as that is pretty close to...

    Meat Fishing

You'll have to report on how that goes! Those suckers dive, right? Would be a great fight on a fly rod. I met a guy this last summer in Dillingham who held the world record for catching Halibut on a fly rod. He made his own lines for this. Wish I remembered his name.

    Let's see your flotilla😀

Your experience letting your 10 year old row is so much different than mine. Lol. Granted, mine was in a 2 person packraft with a canoe paddle. Not the easiest thing to move around. Still super fun. And I got to paddle while she fished - which is almost as good!

    Meat Fishing

Love it! Never caught a tuna. Caught a Marlin once when I was a much younger Marine on Oahu. That was cool. Those look tasty.

Best DIY resources for those new to the PNW?

I don't know how you feel about hiking and backcountry. But that is 90% what I do now locally. No meth heads where I go. Just drop dead scenery and great fishing. Both the west and east sides have a lot to offer.

    Meat Fishing

I don't start posts much, but curious what favorite techniques you all have for filling the freezer. I don't have a boat, so my meat fishing is typically walking style. I don't meat fish in the NW anymore, but in Alaska I almost solely use custom spinners. It's amazing what that immediate...

    Drift Fishing

These gear strings bring back good memories. Don't do much anymore, but always bring gear backup on remote trips. Love throwing spoons and used to heavily drift fish in my younger days. Does feel like cheating in Alaska sometimes though :) The Stilly, Skagit, etc are so much different now.

    Let's see your flotilla😀

Guess it's time for me to grow up after looking at all these boats. My flotilla right now is all packrafts. I have a gear problem. This is after selling a few, but as you all know - different gear for different situations. PR-49 Alpacka Fjord Explorer Alpacka Explorer 42 Alpacka Curiyak...

    Hawaii boat trip

I'll be in Oahu for my last USMC trip the first 2 weeks of March. I have a couple friends flying in. They like to ocean gear fish. Wondering if anyone here knows of a good boat. Thanks in advance.
