    What's in your vise?

Too bad it doesn't come in flavors like "fish roe"

The Stonedfish/Bambooflyguy monthly lake dry fly challenge!

Sounds like a catch and release to me!

    Feather Craft Issue

Feather Craft, through no fault of their own, sold you a defective unit. They would have taken it back within 30 days, and undoubtedly would have sent it back to Solarez. Not sure why they can't do that now. They do have a 30-day policy for returns and are well within their rights to refuse...

The Stonedfish/Bambooflyguy monthly lake dry fly challenge!

I was going to file an appeal, but I’m afraid there’s no higher court than Judge Judy, except maybe Aaron Judge.

The Stonedfish/Bambooflyguy monthly lake dry fly challenge!

The floating line had a very bouyant and colorful, but hookless, object, connected to a couple of early stage midge patterns......

The Stonedfish/Bambooflyguy monthly lake dry fly challenge!

So I caught a fish yesterday on a type 5 line that hit my trailing fly at the surface and launched himself in the air and over my other fly line which was a floating line. That leader was toast by the time I landed the fish. Does this count as a dry fly take?

    Coffee talk

Intriguing, but uses a ridiculous amount of beans! I have a Chemex and use a 15:1 ratio, using 20 gms beans to 300 gms water. I drink 2 cups of this daily, pretty much. If I used 50 gms per cup, or 100 gms daily, my 12 ounce bag of local fresh roasted beans would only last 3 1/2 days...

The Stonedfish/Bambooflyguy monthly lake dry fly challenge!

Sorry, but if it was raining you surely didn’t have a dry fly. It’s a dry fly challenge, not a surface challenge?

    Coffee talk

Not roasting my own but I buy from local roasters, with the occasional bag of Stumptown thrown in. I lived on Starbucks when I worked, started with pour-overs when I retired 3 years ago and have much more time. Still get an occasional Starbucks, like when I meet Rich at 5am to head out...

    What's in your vise?

Nice ties! Were they tied by singlehandjay, or more likely doublehandjay?

    Bread Thread

I just whisk the yogurt in with the liquids before adding the flour. Didn’t notice any clumping. Interestingly I just used buttermilk this last time and the buttermilk was very clumpy.

For my sourdough waffle recipe, I will substitute half milk and half greek yogurt for the buttermilk. Still gives the tangy flavor. I always have those things in the fridge.

    "Cart" for Outcast Scout

I saw a guy and his wife use a game cart to haul pontoons into Lenice. I had my pontoon that day and it turned out that my wheel broke, luckily they were leaving at the same time and he let me use his game cart to get back to the truck. Easy and worked well.

    Pass lake algae

Found proof they drive online. Being they are such little a-holes, I figured they would be driving an Audi…. I bet they don’t use their turn signals, and ride your butt on I-5.

    Pass lake algae

Yikes, I didn’t realize otters could move that easily from lake to lake. That appears to be a 2.5 hour drive. Can otters even drive?

    Fishfinder mount

There’s enough room in front of the side bags for the strap wrap, barely, at least on the super fat cat. Put it on before fully inflated, then finish inflating. That’s what I do regularly.

    What's in your vise?

I’ve tried a couple of those red ones with no love given. But can’t say I fished them for long or very confidently. And confidence is always the key.

    What's Catching You Fish?

Caught me a steelhead yesterday. No pics of fish as I was by myself.
