    Bamboo Fling

As long as it is bamboo (wink) bring it. I am sure I am not the only one that would like to wiggle it. I have what I think is an ole English salmon rod I am planning to bring. Dinnis Stone made a new tip section for me a few years ago.

I know I would like to see a two hander. Do you have a reel and line for them?

    Bamboo Fling

I noticed a thread "My First Rod Build". Take notice and invite Dewbwol54 to the Bamboo fling. I have been sorting my rods to see which ones I want to bring. I have a few rods I plan to bring that are in original/usable condition as well as a couple that are in original but questionable...

    Hardy Glen Beg Neo Cane

I picked up a Hardy Bamboo rod 3 year ago. I was surprised that the Hardy bamboo rods don't seem to command the prices that that their reels do.

    Bamboo Fling

I noticed a thread called “New Bamboo” that spoke of a new rod maker in Sisters Oregon named Olivia Elia. I watched a video clip, liked what I saw and liked the comments I read and ordered a 7'9" 4 weight rod based on a Payne 101 taper. It will be 6 or 7 months before I get my new treasure.

    Is your desk a mess?

Now it looks like the desk of a "real" fly tier. So much better.

I was expecting a good sense of humor and I got it.

    Is your desk a mess?

I really like the tabletop. If I ever see my way to getting rid of my roll top desk, I will have to think about a slab with a live edge like yours.

    Bamboo Fling

I have been very busy with things other than bamboo fly rods, damn it anyway. Well, I am making a command decision. The bamboo Fling is on for June 12th a Sunday, start time is 11AM and the location is Cascade View Neighborhood Park in Redmond the same as last year. I would like to see...

    Bamboo Fling

Good point Mike, so no glass. I have several glass rods (new and old) but bamboo is where the heart is.

    Bamboo Fling

June 4th won't work for me. I will be wetting a fly Lake Curlew that week. May 14th or May 28th looks good.

    New bamboo

What can I say? I am impressed. Someone so young using a typewriter, a camera with film and talent with several activities. While I was raised in an environment full of craft and trade, my father wouldn't teach me the skills I wanted so much to learn. I was left to learn on my own and that...
