    Road Trip Lake recommendations?

My dad always wanted to make it there. I was looking into it last year but thought I heard the fishing is down from years past.

    Road Trip Lake recommendations?

Browns was on my radar. It seems like a good option. I've wondered about Sprague before when I've driven by in the past. Amber seems interesting. I think I saw an episode of Ladin there before. Thanks for the kind words and recommendations.

    Road Trip Lake recommendations?

That's the one the fly shop we are fishing with recommended. I remember reading about it in the past. I'll have to look into it more. Thanks

The "How was your weekend?" thread...

6th birthday tonight. My buddy who dirt bikes says the Crocs aren't gonna cut it but other than that he looks legit.

    Road Trip Lake recommendations?

I will be done with Chemo In May. My friend invited me to fish with him in Hamilton, MT mid June. My immune system might still be compromised so I'm gonna make the drive from Edmonds, WA this year. I was going to throw the Jon boat in the truck and take my time fishing a lake or two on the...

    The Positivity Thread

As I've gotten older the more I focus on not trying to be a dick. Life is easier if you're just nice. My son is about to turn six and is in a school that he does well at. I've been with my wife for 10 years, she and my son are the best things that have happened to me. Challenges in life keep...

Nymphing and Dry Fly General Purpose Trout Fly Rod

I would say 4wt, I can remember people saying either go even or odd. Most of the time the weight of the rod is for how you want to fish. Use the 4 for dries and small wet flies. Use the 6 for lobbing bobbers and streamers.

How to fight Saltwater Salmon on a 6wt

There really isn't anything to replace experience. The more you hook the more you'll know what's working. If you want to get better at catching them on the fly rod leave the downriggers at home ;).

    What's Catching You Fish?

    The Glide Path

I just turned 41 and have a son who turns 6 next week. I've always fish more than most so my wife didn't go into the relationship blind to how much I would be fishing. Before we got married I would fish 3 or more days a week. This has slowed down but I still probably go more than many dads...

    Favorite Fly To Tie?

That's kinda the same boat I'm in. Tie a couple and see if they hook something. I usually never even look at the hundreds of flies in the boat bag.

    Favorite Fly To Tie?

I have a problem with creativity when it comes to tying new flies. I usually end up sitting down and just tying another spider or streamer. I have some health issues that might have me tying more while I'm getting better but I'm looking for some ideas on what to tie. I'm wondering what...

    Classic reel recommendations (3/4wt)

A couple others J Austin Forbes, Diawa, Cortland, Scientific Anglers. The Douglas reels aren't retro but have a classic look to them. Leland fly fishing has some clones. I always liked the look of the old Lamson purist. One thing to consider is if you want an exposed spool rim to apply more...
