    SFR Yeti skillet

I can remember growing up that after washing the cast iron skillets i had to put them back on a heated burner to dry. Grandma and mom were from the old school kitchen and wanted those season pans to be treated just so.

    Seattle I5 Corridor Rabbits.

After over 35 years growing a garden here I was forced to put up a fence because of the population explosion of eastern cotton tails here. I remember a few years ago it was dead possums on the road everywhere. Now I rarely see one. Hope this is just a spike in the rabbit population. $100 for...

NFR I saw a rat in my yard.

If you want to use kill traps such as the Victors, use a bait such as cheese, NO Peanut butter if there are squirrels around. Try to enclose the trap so that only rats can find it. PS: watch out for your fingers when setting those traps.

if you didnt have bearing buddies before be sure to add them. A fresh filling of grease before each trip will increase the life of those bearings.

Almost was "THAT GUY" at the boat launch and ended up on youtube...

My favorite hang out is the Mukelteo boat launch on a Saturday afternoon during Pink season. Take your lawn chair and your fvorite cold beverage and watch em launch and retrieve with 2 to 3 ft rollers hitting the launch from passing boats. At low minus tides ive seen em back their trailers off...

NFR Help me kill my lawn

you could start by burning the existing grasss with a weed burner before covering with a tarp. This should help destroy any seeds from growing after you remove the tarp.

    Trailer flooring

a thin sheet of aluminum on plate(.064) thick or more screwed down on top of those planks is another choice. It can be purchased in 4' X 8' ft sheets. Cost per sheet? You dont need certified aircraft grade material. It doesnt take any special care and will last a life time. Just a thought.

    Plinking Near Seattle

Before the first shot is fired we put down a tarp to shoot off of. Just roll it up after you're done and take all your brass and garbage home with you, usually with some left by previous shooters.

I did some searching on WDFW website and was unable to find the new recommendation by the dept of Health fish consumption in lake washington. Was wondering if i am just missing something. I know that in the paper copy of state fishing regulations there is a page that recommends limits of...

    Do Not Eat Warning

Lake washington was once the septic tank for all the communities that surrounded it before they put in sewage treatment plants. The Boeing Renton air strip was probably a source of fire fighting foam.

What plants, weeds and/or trees do you hate and why?

Bamboo. Two of my neighbors have it. The plant sends out roots that can travel for yards.

    Rod sections separating

If remember right, the wrapping on a package of cigarettes is about .001 thick. A small piece of this used as a shim may work. Someone might know of something thinner.

    Rod Building Single foot guides

All that have tried or have repaired damaged snake guides, you know how difficult it can be. It takes a pair of round nosed pliers so you don't mar them. If one side pulls out of the wrapping you might as well plan on replacing it. On the other hand I have had inserts fall out of ceramic insert...

Fish in Coolers - How Long?

I can remember commercial trollers packing their catch in ice for 3 days before delivery. They packed em with the bellys full of ice and covered head to tail. You can also lower the temperature in your cooler with the addition of dry ice.

    Fate of surplus hatchery salmon?

several years ago i chatted with a fellow angler whose outdoor group used to help withe the steelhead spawning at the Whitehorse hatchery. He said that they would send the fish to local food banks until, if i remember right , the dept of health stopped them because of food handling issues.

    NFR Rats in the garden

the large Victor rat traps are my go too method to rid problem rats. I stake em to the ground so a tail caught rat doesnt drag them away. I place a roof of some type over the traps to keep birds out. If you have squirrels use cheese, not peanut butter for bait.
