I totally understand and agree with the 10 post rule. A little less totalitarian than NAFF but enough to weed out the ruckus. However, I must say, the “you have insufficient privileges to post here” line is so demeaning! LOL! But I no longer have “insufficient privileges”! :)

I agree! Go SA. I’ve owned both brands and always end up preferring the SA feel and “amnesia” in the line coiling on a cold day.

I didn’t see much discussion on your first questions about rod weights, so I’ll offer my experience. I prefer a 9ft 6wt or 9’6” 6wt for smallmouth. My current rod is an Orvis ZG Helios 906-4 with fighting butt (saltwater model). I’ve had higher and lower end rods but this is the one that stuck...

Gosh, that’s a beautiful reel! Would look stellar on a Scott G or Radian with those orange wraps.
