    Yakima walk and wade advice

The Yak hates me. So my advice is questionable. I like the Cle Elum stretch best, followed by Ellensburg, followed by the lower canyon. If I hook one fish that's a great day! The Thorp section seems barren to me, but others report good results there. I've gone floating and wading with a guide (...

    Favorite bass flies?

A close second. Difficult to tie, easy to lose... but effective.

    Blobs

Richard: Blobs and Boobies are all the rage now. Get with the times!...although an old school black woolly worm with a red tag always produces.

    Finally - SRC Success!!!!

This one was my best SRC landed this year. Lost a much larger fish after a jumpy short battle barbless hook, sigh. Recent rain has my favorite SRC run unfishable .... fly = lightning strike muddler

I've been looking for a good bluegill lake. I would love to know where your blue ribbon lake is. Maybe a group of determined anglers could go thin the population..

    Bass on the fly advice...

I've done well with the sloooow strip Olive/Orange Crayfish, the Wiggler ( above and below) and now testing the floating "smacker" on a sinking line...dives on the retrieve floats up on the pause... Experiment!

    What's in your vise?

Tied up some Smackers. I like these a lot lately. Seem to annoy aggressive trout with the wobbly action. Fish deep, strip...they sink...dead drift they rise...in the current they wobble

I'd like to welcome our new members!!

OK, I'm signed up.... I'm here representing the old school. Son of Ted Niemeyer, schooled by Eric Leiser, Tom Darling, and many other friend's of my Dad. I was doing tying demos at east coast fly fishing shows when I was 11yo. I fish for trout, bass, salmon, hawaiian bonefish and I'm still...
