Good call. I didn't think of Three rivers. I was going to call Clack in the morning when they opened too.

Boat title and value help - 1982 Clackacraft

I need to find a boat shop in the greater Seattle/Everett area (hopefully) who can help me get an appraised value for a 1982 Clackacraft. I would like to get my boat titled and in Washington state I need a declared value to do that. It needs to match Kelly Blue Book, and they only go back to the...

    Electric motors

The electrical connectors above are called Anderson Power Poles (very common in Ham radio and other electronics uses) in case anyone is looking for a set. They are very handy for a quick and solid connection, also weatherproof so that helps in outdoors use.

    Electric motors

Not to bump an older thread, but just to keep the question with the electric motor post. I have been looking for a 12v Minn Kota 55 for my 15' high side clackacraft to do some lake fishing/trolling. I was wondering what shaft length people have been running on their similar drift boats? Could I...

Nothing is more expensive than a free boat, haha. The temptation is there though. It would make a nice trailer sailor.

Fishing after a major internal clot

Take your time on the recovery is all I have to add. Being out there and enjoying life is important, and spending time in nature heals us sometimes more than we know. I had a heart attack a few years ago (technically sudden heart death) and have an ICD now to keep me going that I really hope to...

    Boat registration in WA

I did it without the boat because they need a dry weight, but the guy behind me with a rowboat on a trailer weighted it with it on there. They actually laughed at my trailer and said it was cute and the lightest thing they had weighed in a while, haha. Also, get a weight from a WSP scale, they...

    Boat registration in WA

I recently went through the same process of getting a trailer and boat registered from OR into WA. I agree with making an apt early. They release all the appointments on the same day at the same time (I cannot remember the day, I think its tues). You setup the apt for a trailer inspection Get...

    1982 Clackacraft

Thanks for the info. I'm 6'2 and I think that would make a difference. Looks like Wille and a few other places carry kits to adjust them. It was a good day out on the water (floated from Downtown Snohomish to Lowell park, about 6mi) and have to admit the water was a lot slower than I expected...

    1982 Clackacraft

Got back out on the water this weekend. After some adjustments rowing seems way easier now, so thats good. I do have a question about oar lock heights. The boat is a high side. When rowing, to get the oars fully out of the water I keep rubbing the top of my legs with the handles. Does anyone...

The oar stands are what got me to click on it, haha. Interesting way of putting risers on there, but I guess it works.

    1982 Clackacraft

Por-15 and Master Series are very solid choices for frames. They were designed to coat steel bridges and structures that are out in the weather all the time. Good point on not leaving any on the lid, it will seal them for sure, haha.

    1982 Clackacraft

I hit the bad spots with a wire wheel. Mine mainly had surface rust (it lived in Eastern Oregon most of its life). You could sand or media blast it if its bad. I've used Master Series paint to coat rusty frames on vehicles and it seems to work really well. Its the original formula for Por-15...

    1982 Clackacraft

Good news, it floats! I took it out for a spin around the lake to get a feel for it. It was pretty fun for everyone.

Bump. Debating trades now too, a nice set of 9' oars (sawyers preferred)

    1982 Clackacraft

With the inside looking nice I decided it was time to buff, polish, and wax the outside too. Turns out after one round of buffing the gel coat under there was not horrible after all! Before: After:

    1982 Clackacraft

I called around to a few places and some of them were pretty expensive. I ended up going with Clackacraft and a few people on here and Facebooks recommendation and it was a lot less expensive, but he also knows his way around these boats (Clack sends repairs to him). Compared to a newer boat the...
