Admit I like fishing the shorter rods as well. Maybe that’s why opst rods are shorter rods.

I got a 300 grain smooth for beach salmon & rivers but mostly used it at the beach this year on my single hand rod. The tip i used at the beach was 5/5 float sink 4 and a 10 foot intermediate. Casting was good and stripping line much better than a commando head. Still figuring it out on moving...

On a side note, how do you straighten out those wavy curves on skagit/scandi heads ? I have 2 skagit heads I can’t seem to straighten out ?

WDFW found an excuse to get out of sport steelhead. The anti sport fishing orgs were all the state needed to walk away. Just look at what they did this week down south. And of course keeping the Skagit closed this winter with the excuse of no money after the largest tax increase in state History.

just my -2 cents. If you like an OBS head with mono try a Commando head. So easy to roll cast it out there with no need for back cast. Down side might not be best for spooky fish as they are not delicate. Not a fan of mono running lines as I always get fumble fingers.

Totally get your pain. Big C is tough. Have thought about maybe some slow water areas say down by Chinook where some of those little creeks come in ? Snohomish coho can be the same way. But toss out a jig or troll a plug and your hooked up.
