I was there Thursday as well and I did see 2 people at the rock slide end fishing from the shore. The wind was just too nasty to make it worth the effort to row all the way there to inspect them.

They are quite real and nasty. Wear gloves when sticking your hands into places that have not been disturbed in some time. They are hidey spiders.

I suggest going to a recently planted lake and fish with an indicator. Pretty much any small fly world work, just hang it down 4' and stay kinda close to the boat launch they were put in at. Simply look at the WDFW web site for a list of lakes...

Be advised, if you plan to use it in the Yakima, there is a reason the boats there largely favor a ball of chain. The basaltic rock formations can grab and hold a solid anchor. My experience with drift boats is that lead pyramids are cheap and they work most places.
