    Roseburg Intel Needed

Hey y'all. I'll be down in Roseburg the second week of August for work, and I'll have the afternoons available to get out and fish. It would be awesome if someone could point me in the right direction here. Smallmouth in town? North Umpqua steelhead? Any trout around within an hour or so? I've...

    NFR Need vehicle opinions.

Yup. We bought a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen with a manual and the 2.5l five cylinder for our 17 year old after he got his license. He basically had to learn to drive again, but he's appreciative of knowing how to row his own gears. And it's nice to hive around if I want to do a bit of spirited driving...

    NFR Need vehicle opinions.

Randy, Subaru is probably the answer. The Achilles heel of late model Subarus are the CVTs. The problem stemmed from Subaru initially saying the transmissions had a "lifetime" fluid, which is crazy. As long as you find one with under 60k miles, and you service the CVT fluid as soon as you get it...

Rod Wraper, some books, and two sets of used Korkers soles

Sorry y'all, I forgot to update. @bucktail took the rod wrapping stuff and the books, but I still have the soles if anyone's interested. They'll be on their way to Goodwill tomorrow if no one wants them.

I get it, but I just don’t have the space.

Rod Wraper, some books, and two sets of used Korkers soles

I decided I’m never going to builds rods, so passing this on to someone who will use it (please don’t sell it, ok?) Older Flex Coat (I think) rod wrapper and some miscellaneous bits (a couple reel seats, some cork, thread, tools). Also have the Flex Coat start to finish building book and a...

Did you leave something on the boat ramp…

Sadly, it is not @albula ’s ugly stick, nor @PhilR ’s youthful idealism. If you were at lake within a reasonable drive from Portland over the weekend or on Monday, check your gear and hit me up if you happen to be missing something.

Did you leave something on the boat ramp…

…at a popular lake in Oregon yesterday? If so, tell me what you lost and at which lake you lost it. If they match up with what I have I’ll reunite you with your long lost goods.

    Can you spot AI photos?

I thought I was pretty good at spotting clanker images, but also ended up at 75%. Some are super obvious, but others are very good. The future of misinformation is going to be wild. People already fall for AI stuff, and it's only getting better.

Best adhesive to reinforce level leech pin thread wraps?

I dunk all my semi seal leeches, balanced or not, in almost boiling water. Does it really make a difference? I have no idea…

Best adhesive to reinforce level leech pin thread wraps?

Any super glue, from the hardware store or fly shop, should do the trick for you. I just brush some on after I tie the pin on the hook shank.

Yeah, that yellow stomper and a purple haze.

Replenishing some attractors. Micro chubbies and hippie stompers.

Not to help continue the thread drift, but every Hardcore History series (and the one Blitz episodes) are so good. I give Ghosts of the Ostfront and Blueprint for Armageddon an annual listen.

I highly recommend Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History series on the war in the Pacific, “Supernova in the East.” It’s six episodes, and each episode is about five hours, so it’s a time commitment. It is fantastic though.
