One Pfoot

[Pez Vela]

Has anyone tried to buy some Medalist reel parts from One Pfoot lately? I ordered some stuff almost a month ago from Joe, and haven’t heard from him.. and no one is answering his emails. I used PayPal so at least I’ll get my money back…

Not lately, but years ago. It was kinda' funky doing business, but eventually I got what I ordered.

Do this to your reel all by yourself…..

That smallmouth was caught by my grandson.. he hasn’t been right since!

Looks awesome, mind sharing your process?

This is the first fly reel my dad bought for me in 1966. Pflueger 1494 with a 8’ Phillipson fiberglass fly rod. Most of the paint was worn off so it needed a little TLC and a makeover. I used 0000 steel wool to remove the rest of the paint, enlarged the holes in the spool, inserted a brass/glass ring line guide, made a wooden latch cover, drag knob and a piece of a bamboo blank for the winding handle. That’s it! It gets to fish once in a while but takes a backseat to my Hardy’s.

I think we all agree he's just fine, can quit anytime he wants and oh fuck he did it on the fly? All bets are off, you have a full time fishing buddy on your hands

He's been mainlining tight line smallie grabs at that age? Whats left for him??? At least narcotics won't hold their proper appeal.
