Northern BC & Yukon

I’ve gone back to northern British Columbia at the lodge on Muncho Lake…Northern Rockies Adventures. Spent the night in Vancouver last Saturday, then headed to Pitt Meadows regional airport to take a twin prop plane to Fort Nelson…unloaded the plane and transported by van for the 2.5 hour road trip to Muncho Lake.

Saw this same plane in the hangar last year when I came

This adventurous dude came from Barrow AK and stopped in Fort Nelson to refuel…its a single seater, he is on his way to NY…AV fuel is costing him $100 an hour of flying…

I head out today by float plane to a remote lake to fish a connecting stream for rainbows, then I will be dropped off at a remote outpost cabin on a lake with a creek coming into it…they will be providing me with a small skiff & 3hp motor…lake has grayling, bull & lake trout in it…I will be here by my lonesome for two nights, possibly three (weather dependent)…it has been raining and thunder storms since I got here

you may have mentioned, but what is the name of the lodge/outfitter you use ? seems like a great place.

Our first destination was this beautiful small connector stream between two lakes…it was full of rainbows…spent the morning & afternoon hooking and releasing 27 rainbows practically all the same size between 14”-17”, including this one with talon marks in her side & back…a lot of fun on the 4wt

Next morning, it was low 40’s…fired up the heater and made a pot of lake coffee…

When I got to the end of the lake, the wind had died and it was mirror calm…and there were rising fish everywhere. I cut the motor and drifted, throwing ants of every color on the 4wt…for the next two hours, i may have caught 50…they ate anything that landed on the surface
