Favorite Sage Fly Rod

I think the Z-Axis probably, I have it in a few weights. But also picked up a 486 DS2 last year and was really impressed with how it felt, especially on smaller streams.

With around 30 trips to Christmas Island I would guess my 789 RP has caught as many bonefish as any other single rod. Although not as easy to travel with being a two piece I still bring it anywhere I will be wade fishing for bonefish or redfish. It's a great rod for punching casts under the ever present winds.

I grabbed a 490-4 years ago. Slapped a Ross Cimarron 2 on it with a Rio Trout perception line or something like that and it has been a joy to dry fly fish with. Does well on nymph fishing too.

My 4 favorites XP 4100-4,6100-4 and the Spey rods 8150-4 graphite 3, 9150-4 graphite 4. The XP’s are still in my quiver but the two handers ended being sold, I wish I would have hung onto them.
Agree = wish I'd hung on to a few. I sold all mine but would really like to have my Michael&Young custom 8150 back, if only because of all the memories it was a part of on the Thompson river. :(

I had a loaner Power 8 590-4 for about a month spent about 20 hours casting it and 2 hours fishing it. It is an excellent rod. I need to buy one as i am hoping to start casting in competition. It's fast but it fishes very well even in close. I maxed out at 115 with it. And after warm up hit 105-110 regularly. At the moment it's my favorite.

2 pc 6 weight 9' XP is my favorite . Had a 5 weight VXP 9' 4 piece that was a close second , fished it a lot . Never was much of a popular rod ,not sure I ever seen anyone with one . Unfortunately broke it a couple years ago , one they don't fix , replaced it with a Sonic ,not a fan of that rod .
