Here is the perfect reel for a 3wt. from that site. You might find this site of interest https://coldwatercollectibles.com/. I have bought and sold rods and reels through Coldwater Collectibles for years and have had only the best interactions. If nothing else their photos of fly reels (classics as well as modern) will green you up with envy if nothing else.

Wow, that thing might have too much style for me, but keep the recommendations coming! Here is the perfect reel for a 3wt. from that site.

Great advice!!Made in England Battenkill and CFO’s. It’s hard to beat the classic looks and build quality of the CFO’s in my opinion.
good choice!View attachment 175224
Thread update- I made my choice. Found this original Colorado 1 on the big auction site and scooped it up near original MSRP (from 20+ yrs ago).
During my research I found the original catalogue and saw this reel was offered with heavier springs for stronger click. A quick email out to Ross and a couple heavy springs were shipped promptly, no questions asked. So cool.

Very cool, love the matte gray finish and the simplicity of the reel. I have a modern Colorado in silver and I think I need its GrandfatherView attachment 175224

I have a 0 on my 3 wt too. But at the time they were not all that well reviewed and most found the clicker weak and fragile. I’ve never had a problem and it’s almost 30yrs now.The older Ross Colorados' are hard to beat...
