Everett Washington best steelhead Rivers for beginners / Skykomish Hwy2

I’d be ok letting Bob Fergburger get that state income tax going if he’ll restart the S. Fork Sky summer run hatchery.

We need hatchery reform and habitat improvement simultaneously, or we won’t be fishing in WA for steelhead in the near future.

I firmly believe our population and culture is the problem. We used to be a bastion of outdoor culture; now it’s all “12th man” and tech (we’re past startups, it’s tech overlords now) startups with a side of “isn’t Mt. Rainier pretty today”.
Haha! Are you blaming Seahawk fans, Google and Amazon for the steelhead decline? :ROFLMAO: Also, I'm all for a small tax increase if it means our fisheries are better funded, but not in the form of a state income tax. I know enough people from Oregon to know it's not good.

I do agree with your 2nd sentence. :) Go Seahawks! 😁

No, but it’s the swing of culture away from outdoor recreation in general that I’m pointing at. I’m also being an ass pain.

I had wishful thinking as I drove to my favorite S River this morning as it dropped quite a bit. Still way higher than I’ve ever fished it but a man’s gotta fish!
The feeder tribs that are normally somewhat clear looked like shit. I bet some of them have some major slides up high.
I was hoping for a last hurrah before my wife lays our egg at the end of the month and I’m trapped in the house changing diapers. Maybe next month during paternity leave she’ll throw me a bone for a day or two.

Years ago a week before xmass, we had a high water event, 25k or so, it had dropped to 13k and I went and hit my favorite run. With only my type III out and back against the brush, I managed to get a nice hatchery brat out of the 10' pocket.

Go when your instincts tells you too, it's paid of many a times!

As a father of a young boy, the infancy period is actually the time you can go fishing. Babies are highly overrated for difficulty excepting the sleep part. That baby will just eat and sleep so go fishing when it is sleeping. Once it grows legs and becomes an actual human that wants to do its own stuff you have a fishing problem.

Makes sense to me!
