Pass lake algae

Bummer!
Hopefully it’s open by December so @Wanative and I can do our annual
outing there.

Just a recap on this situation from a previous conversation with Jason at DP State Park:

He informed me that the real issue on this is the amount of silt that has settled over the years on the bottom. When they did core tests about 2 years ago, the core sample device went down about 6 feet and didn't hit bottom. Because of this silt, the lake cannot turn over properly and in accordance with warmer weather, just harbors the " dormant" microorganisms that don't die completely.
He also stated it would take probably $ 40-$ 50,000 dollars to rectify this situation. This has obviously limited our fishing season from about early December to June. In the past, it seems the water was cooling off and clearing sometime in September with October and November being really great fall fishing.
I have thoughts of somehow trying to do a fundraiser to help fix this.

Thoughts..?

Sounds like a lake’s cycling towards becoming a meadow. Ugh.
