No prepayment.. just bring a $20 and toss on the table

I know this is a little bit ahead of time, but hope to get 4 or so people at least.. im going with RCF regardless.. pizza, beer and fly tying! LFG!!

I plan to move this around.. I'm willing to drive, or worst case, organize it and you guys can enjoy.. give me an idea on venues (bars, breweries you like)..

5 Rights in Marysville is awesome and I know the owners.. if it's beer or liquor there's a good chance I know someone there.. years in the liquor and wine biz..

I chose Tuesday at the Pizza Coop, as they have trivia on Mondays.. I want to support my friends.. and Brian Streight the owner is awesome and does a great charity golf event.. I'll be helping him out with donations and whatever else he needs.

Woodinville isn't too far.. but I get it.. not everyone wants to drive there from Everett..

I actually talked to the guys at Skip Rock in Snohomish about doing a tying event! Would that work for you?
 
Ha!.....I'm in Tacoma. South sound. I know Gig Harbor Fly Shop does a thing on Thurs nights, but I believe it's pretty structured...don't know as I've never been.
Tough to organize these as usually interest but hard to get commitment. Good luck! Nice of you to try and get this going.

I read your location wrong.. Gig Harbor Fly is awesome and they'll probably let us do another night.. However Seven Seas Brewery is great.. not sure on their tables though.. we might have to bring tables. Heritage Distilling, I know them well.. just concerned about space indoors there.

I've thought of Smokey Joes, the cigar bar at BJ's Bingo casino, but not sure others want to sit in smoke.

Pick some places you like, breweries, restaraunts.. Doyles would be fun, but I don't know the owner real well and they can get busy..

We'll plan one at the end of March or early April down your way if you want.

Let me see what I can do.. ill see if I can borrow one or we can take turns and you can use my vice.. tools and materials are no problem!
 
Okay I'll have at least an extra vice.. a friend is going to give me a Norvise! Woohoo!!
 
Unfortunately I will.not be able to attend.
A meeting with my investment/estate advisor just got moved from 3/6 to.3/11.

If you need a vice and materials , I would be be more than happy to loan them to help out. All trout related.... Everything fits into my travel bag. I will send pics privately....

It's not a pay in advance thing.. just show up with your vice, tools and materials.. I'll have a lot of materials and two vices.. We'll have a drink and pizza and then tie til 9pm or whenever people want to wrap things up! Easy, peasy! If you're feeling generous, then buy me a drink.. not necessary.. I'm not doing this for money, just to hang out and BS with fellow tyer's and fly guys.. we'll probably stay away from politics so I don't piss anyone off! LOL!
 
Went to the Overlake FF club meeting and invited some guys, including a father and son, Adam and Nolan. Nolan is 9 years old and loves all things fly fishing and tying. Hopefully they will make our tying on the 11th.. regardless it's exciting to have such a nice kid interested and doing it.. he was also given some materials and a new reel and intermediate fly line!

Bummer! I'll be setting up others.. at least once a month.. next one will likely be at Black Raven in Woodinville on a Tuesday.. 2nd Tuesday of each month..

I'm planning on doing the next one at Formula Brewing in Issaquah, and then Gig Harbor in May (not sure if we'll do a Tuesday, as they have there Thursday night tying! I'll figure it out.

Got the go ahead from Mac & Jacks, Black Raven, we can just show up and a few others.. working in the liquor business has it's pluses.

I'll see how the turnouts go and then decide if it's worth setting up. The Gig Harbor is for the south sound guys, I may go down, fish the beaches for sea run cutthroat trout and then make my way to the fly shop! Lots of great options, and Heritage Distilling is across the street.. but this is to tie flies and meet new people from the site! So I hope people can come.

Will probably not do stuff for the summer, but can.. people are out vacationing and fishing.. I plan on getting out to MT, or just ID on the St Joe if I can.
