DIY fly fishing in Torres del Paine

Has anyone any information on fly fishing in Patagonia without a guide? From what I can see online, all rivers in Chile are free to fish given (a) you have a Chilean fishing license and (b) as long as you don’t trespass on private property, such as entering a river from a bridge. Is this true?

I was also wondering is it possible to rent tackle (waders, boots, rod & reel) in Puerto Natales.

Any information to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Tight lines, Cian

This might be worth reading if you haven't seen it:

Though it's not the exact same question you're asking.

I have fished all over Chile without a guide. However, in Torres del Paine, I was too distracted by the scenery and annoyed by the wind shredding my tent to bother with fishing.

Send a PM to Muknuk, he’s probably been there as much or more than anyone. He doesn’t post often but is very generous with advice. Look up his travel reports, probably more on the WFF site.
