I did something similar five years ago. I found out my business partner of 10 years was embezzling money from the business, along with some other stuff I didn't want to be involved with that could potentially ruin my reputation, or worse. A job offer happened to come along that seemed heaven...

He was wanted and on the run. Stole the boat from Astoria right before that, and left a dead fish on the goonies house front porch.
